Nature conservation board to decide on wind turbines in Klivaløkshaga, Sands district
The Nature Conservation Board in Sands district will reach a decision regarding the wind turbines at Klivaløkshaga later in August, according to Kristjan Martin Joensen, the district governor and chair of the board.
The board has received a request from the Environmental Agency for a principle permit to install seven wind turbines west of the village of Sands, across one or more grazing areas in Klivaløkshaga.
Additionally, permission has also been sought to construct a road to the turbines through grazing areas in Fjallshagi.
A local meeting took place on June 26.
Should anyone appeal the conservation board’s decision, the matter will also be processed by the Superior Conservation Board.
