A severely injured, lifeless girl was discovered outdoors near the old railway station in Landskrona just after midnight on July 23. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Authorities have determined that she sustained significant violence. A girl under the age of 15 is now suspected of murder and abduction, while another 15-year-old girl is in custody, likely suspected of murder.

Both girls, who were previously acquainted with the victim, have made some admissions and provided information regarding the background of the incident, according to prosecutors. In the aftermath of the murder, videos and images from the evening have circulated on social media.

Kenth Pehrsson, a commissioner with the serious crimes unit in Helsingborg, confirmed that the police have received reports from multiple individuals claiming to have seen these videos. “We are currently verifying what these individuals have viewed,” he stated.

Concern has been raised about the act of filming someone being victimized, which may constitute an additional violation. Nils Pålbrant, a judge at Uppsala District Court, noted, “It’s terrible, and it’s apparent that those who recorded this must have committed some form of offense, possibly defamation or aggravated defamation.”

There are also implications regarding the legality of disseminating this material. Pehrsson emphasized that certain types of content should not circulate widely and lamented the lack of awareness regarding the consequences of sharing such videos. A study from the Crime Prevention Council indicated that a larger percentage of crimes against girls aged 7 to 15 are documented compared to those against boys.
