Suspects detained after shooting incident in Seinäjoki, Finland

The Southern Ostrobothnia District Court has ordered the detention of two suspects connected to a shooting incident that took place in Seinäjoki over the weekend. A third suspect will have a court hearing later in the afternoon. The charges against the detained individuals include attempted manslaughter and firearm offenses. The hearings were conducted behind closed doors. In total, the police are seeking to detain three men: two are approximately 30 years old, while the third is around 50. Investigation leader Markku Kaperi has indicated that further information will be released by the police later.

Five individuals were injured during the gunfire in a packed pub on Saturday night. A dispute arose among one group, escalating into the shooting. Among the injured was a security guard, with dozens of bystanders also at risk. The police apprehended one suspect at the scene and arrested the other five in Kurikka and Ikaalinen. Authorities are pursuing the detention of three of those suspects.
