Swedish prime minister dismisses security breach linked to wife’s charity

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has rejected concerns over a security breach exposed by *Aftonbladet*, where a reporter gained access to his private residence by volunteering for his wife’s charitable foundation, according to a report by public broadcaster SVT.

Speaking during the Nordic-Baltic summit in Tallinn on Tuesday, Kristersson said he felt “very secure” despite the incident, in which the undercover journalist attended meetings and entered the prime minister’s home without an invitation or security clearance.

“This is behavior I find rather remarkable,” Kristersson told SVT, adding that he had no involvement in the foundation run by his wife, Birgitta Ed. “If there are questions about a charitable foundation, they should be directed to those responsible—not to me.”

The prime minister dismissed allegations of potential conflicts of interest or corruption risks, which experts had raised after *Aftonbladet* revealed that volunteers were promised “networking opportunities.” Kristersson acknowledged only minor personal involvement, stating, “I’ve helped mow the lawn on a free Sunday.”

When pressed on whether he considered the situation secure, he replied, “I feel completely safe about this.”
