Three individuals detained in connection with shooting at restaurant in Seinäjoki

The police plan to request the detention of three individuals in connection with a shooting that occurred over the weekend at a restaurant in Seinäjoki. The detention hearing is set to take place on Wednesday at the South Ostrobothnia District Court, although the court had not provided a specific time for the session by Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting transpired Saturday night at Pub Härmän Häjy, resulting in five individuals being injured, with three sustaining serious wounds. Among the injured is a security guard. On the same night, police arrested six people in Seinäjoki, as well as in the nearby towns of Kurikka and Ikaalinen.

Pub Härmän Häjy announced that it will return to normal operations, reopening its doors on Wednesday at 12 PM after being closed since the incident. In a message on its Instagram account, the establishment expressed hopes for a peaceful work environment for its staff, who are reported to be shaken by the event. The post emphasizes the importance of safety for both customers and employees.
