Tunnel to Suðuroy announced by Prime Minister during Ólavsøku festival

A tunnel connecting Suðuroy is set to be built, with no doubts arising following the Prime Minister’s speech at the Ólavsøku festival.

Forecasts indicate that the community’s operating costs will be 324 million more in the coming year.

“There is an agreement that if a tunnel to Suðuroy is to be constructed, changes must be made in operations, just as other investments will need to comply,” stated Ruth Vang, the Minister of Finance.

However, she emphasized that there is currently no consensus on how these changes will be implemented.
