Yuliia Kyrpan initially planned to return to Ukraine each month with her children in the first year of the conflict. However, uncertainty about the future has led them to decide to stay in Sweden. “I don’t want them to live under fire. We will remain here so they can be safe,” Yuliia stated.

Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, over 62,000 Ukrainian refugees have been granted residency permits in Sweden under the mass protection directive. A report reveals that 68% of these refugees now express a desire to remain in Sweden.

The ongoing war in Ukraine continues to impact the lives of many, and the situation for Ukrainian refugees remains a topic of significant concern.
