Shooting incident in Seinäjoki leaves multiple injured including security guard

During a shooting incident over the weekend in Seinäjoki, one of the injured was a security guard. Jani Ylimäki, CEO of the security service NYQS, confirmed to STT that the injured security guard is currently still in the hospital.

At least five people were struck by gunfire during the restaurant shooting on Saturday night. The altercation began between two individuals in a group of approximately 7-8 people at Pub Härmän Häjy, escalating into a mutual shootout. In addition to those involved in the dispute, bystanders were also injured.

According to preliminary reports from the police, three of the injured individuals have serious wounds, while the total number of those injured stands at five. The police are expected to provide more information about the incident later this afternoon.

In response to the event, the South Ostrobothnia wellbeing services district is organizing crisis support for those affected.
