In a case currently being heard at the Oulu District Court, the prosecutor is seeking a minimum of two years of imprisonment for Rami Jaber, also known as Prince Rami Al Husseini, for alleged serious financial crimes that occurred between 2016 and 2019. Additionally, local prosecutor Heikki Arjas is requesting that Jaber be banned from conducting business.

The prosecutor alleges that Jaber committed severe tax fraud while serving as a board member and CEO of RNG Entertainment Oy. It is claimed that he provided false information regarding the company’s income, resulting in a failure to report or incorrectly reporting approximately €137,000 in taxes.

Furthermore, Jaber is accused of receiving valuable benefits amounting to around €400,000 from RNG Entertainment, of which about €305,000 was taxable income. The prosecutor indicates that around €300,000 in income was undisclosed to the tax authorities, leading to an underreporting of income tax by approximately €118,000. The prosecutor suggests that Jaber aimed for significant financial gain through both counts of severe tax fraud.

Jaber also faces charges of severe accounting offenses for his role in the company, with approximately €370,000 in sales allegedly missing from the accounting records, which included false documentation.

In his preliminary response to the court, Jaber denies all charges and demands their dismissal. He claims to have provided accounting materials according to the guidance of an accounting firm, which prepared the tax returns. Jaber notes that he does not speak Finnish and is unfamiliar with the country’s legislation, asserting that the tax authorities have made erroneous calculations that were against his interests.

According to the newspaper Kaleva, two sets of charges against Jaber exist, but only one, where he is the sole defendant, is currently being addressed. The other involves another man who is reportedly residing in the United States and could not attend the hearing. Jaber gained attention in Oulu in the mid-2010s with his flashy gold Mercedes and a prominent film project. He also purchased a significant stake in the football club AC Oulu but was removed from its board due to criminal charges. He was sentenced in spring 2023 to prison in Germany for multiple fraud offenses.
