A recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump left him unharmed, though a bullet grazed his right ear. The incident occurred at a campaign event in Pennsylvania on Saturday evening. The perpetrator, a registered republican, was shot and killed. One spectator died and two were critically injured. The shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt.

John Allan Reese, an American resident of Norway, expressed his shame at the event. “The USA should be the world’s greatest democratic country. We are supposed to be leaders, but such things occur. It is embarrassing,” said Reese.

Reese moved to Norway in 2002 and now lives in Drammen with his Norwegian wife and two children. He previously served in the U.S. navy and worked as a police officer in Chicago from 1996 until his move to Norway. He is now engaged in various pursuits including podcasting, music, and stand-up comedy.

Reese has been closely following the news following the shooting. He feels shame over the incident, deeming it embarrassing. He has raised concerns about the political climate in the USA. “We see that it can lead to assassination attempts. Of course, I am worried. We cannot have more incidents, I do not think we can handle it. The entire system will collapse if this continues,” Reese said.

U.S. politics expert and editor of amerikanskpolitikk.no, Are TĂ„gvold Flaten, believes that the shooting could enhance Trump’s chances of winning the election in just under four months. “Trump will definitely get sympathy, at least in the short term,” he said.

Reese, a Biden supporter, hopes the U.S. can navigate through these turbulent times. “What is happening now bothers and worries me. But I still have hope for the future. We can fix this,” the former police officer concluded.
